Learning at Home Through Microsoft Teams

Accessing Learning Resources
All students have access to Microsoft Teams, our digital learning platform that supports learning both in school and at home.
Parents and students can access learning materials, assignments, feedback, and important communications using their school Microsoft 365 account.
Click here for information on accessing Microsoft Teams and your child's Microsoft 365 account.

If Your Child Is Absent
When a student is absent from school, teachers will provide access to learning materials through Microsoft Teams wherever appropriate. This ensures students can continue their learning and stay connected with the curriculum being taught in lessons.
Resources may include:
  • Lesson materials and presentations
  • Class notes and worksheets
  • Online activities and learning resources
  • Assignment instructions and submission guidance
Please note that resources are intended to support continuity of learning and may not replicate every aspect of classroom teaching.

Homework and Assignments
Homework is set through Microsoft Teams Assignments.
Students can:
  • View homework and deadlines
  • Access supporting resources
  • Complete and submit work online
  • Receive feedback from teachers
We encourage students to check Teams regularly to ensure they remain up to date with all assigned work.

Expectations During Extended Absence
Where students are expected to work from home for an extended period, they should follow their normal school timetable as closely as possible.
Students should:
  • Log in to Microsoft Teams each morning
  • Check their subject teams for learning activities
  • Complete work for scheduled lessons
  • Take regular breaks throughout the day
  • Submit completed assignments by the deadlines provided
Following a structured school-day routine helps maintain learning progress and supports a successful return to school.
Notifications and Staying Organised
To ensure students never miss important updates, we recommend:
  • Installing the Microsoft Teams app on a mobile device, tablet, or computer
  • Enabling notifications
  • Checking the Activity feed regularly
  • Reviewing the Assignments section daily
Microsoft Teams provides notifications whenever teachers post announcements, resources, feedback, or new assignments
Supporting Your Child
Parents and carers play an important role in supporting home learning. Encouraging regular engagement with Microsoft Teams, maintaining a suitable study space, and establishing a consistent daily routine will help students stay organised and achieve their best.
If your child experiences difficulties accessing Microsoft Teams or Microsoft 365, please contact the school for support.

Learning Anytime, Anywhere
Microsoft Teams helps us keep learning connected, organised, and accessible, ensuring every student can continue to make progress whether they are in school or learning from home.
